When I was young, my grandmother, Marilyn, taught me how to hand sew. She worked in interior design and would bring her extra fabric swatches home for me to play with. I used those and anything else I could find to make dresses for my dolls. I also made dresses out of paper like the ones pictured below. At restaurants I folded doilies into dresses and talked about someday making a real one. I even took a trash bag and ran around in it in my backyard, pretending if it was the most elegant gown. My love for fashion is embedded in my being from the very beginning.
